We've been eliminating termite infestations in Massachusetts for 22 years. We use a liquid product that’s rated #1 for fast termite elimination and for protecting your home from future termite infestations. It’s applied in low doses and is virtually odorless. It utilizes a non-repellent chemical technology that termites can’t smell, see, taste or avoid. This low toxicity liquid (unlike the older type liquids that were repellant and termites could circumvent) is applied to the soil next to your exterior foundation, all the way around your house. Think of it as a liquid baiting system, but with this type of treatment, the termites don't have to find and then eat any hidden bait, they just have to pass by it in the soil and they will die a few days later. We use soil injection rods to do this part of the treatment. Since the termite workers can't detect this new liquid treatment, they keep tunneling through it. They then get it on their bodies and end up carrying the treatment back to the main colony. It then spreads from termite to termite by contact and quickly eliminates the entire termite colony. This same product is also highly effective at controlling many problem ant species, like carpenter ants.

If properly applied, this type of termite treatment, will quickly kill off the termite colony (usually 21 to 60 days) as well as protect your house against re-infestation for up to 10 years with a single treatment. In most cases, we no longer need to treat inside your home. If any inside termite treatment is needed, its only applied to the inside area where termite activity is noted, or a highly susceptible area (i.e. a finished basement wall next to an area found to have termite activity). If an inside area needs to be treated, but has special flooring that the customer doesn't want disturbed, we have specialized equipment to inject a termite treatment into a wall as a foam through a small 3/16 '' hole.

Note: Its advisable to keep up a termite warranty. When you decide to sell your house you will legally be required to mention a past history of termites on the disclosure form. The buyer will then ask if the warranty is still in effect and if its transferable to them. If its expired, this can turn off a buyer or cause them to lower their original offer.

Beware: Many companies only offer termite treatments with 1 year warranties (look in the fine print). With their 1 year termite warranty you need to start paying for yearly termite renewals the following year that average $150 to $300 annually. Our warranties are designed to save you that expense. We don't require any mandatory yearly inspections to maintain our long extended termite warranties. Also, it doesn't take much skill or effort to stop termites from eating your home for just 1 year.

Termite Bait Stations - Not Recommended

We highly recommend treating a termite infestation with a top quality liquid treatment instead of using termite bait stations. A termite bait station does not seek out termites. Termites actually have to find a bait station and then recruit a large number of colony members to it for it to do any good. They are usually just small plastic cylinders spaced around your home with a cellulose (wood) material inside. This type of termite treatment is a 2 part process that should be given a few years to see if it is going to work. Part 1 is with an untreated cellulose material inside and Part 2 is with a treated material inside. Unfortunately, the termite workers (up to 500,000) will continue to feed on your house while you're waiting for any results. If the termites don't eat any of the treated bait material - no termites are ever killed. Since termite colonies can replace over 100,000 workers every year, you need to kill a very high number of termites quickly for a termite treatment to do any good. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that termites around your home, or termites already eating your home, will ever find the treated material tucked inside the plastic bait stations or decide to consume it.

Another Problem with Bait Stations: If you're selling your house and have paid for a termite baiting system instead of a liquid termite treatment and the buyer's home inspector opens-up the bait stations and notices that no termites have eaten any treated bait you might have to pay again, but this time for a liquid termite treatment to kill the colony and protect the house.
